Preaching guidelines

Dealing with first time visitors :

1) Start the conversation with this question : "Are you getting the emails from temple?". If they say "no", that means they are new people. If they say "yes", ask them if they are being part of temple whatsapp groups (these whatsapp groups are mainly for conf call info, reading sessions info, satsang info). If they are not part of those whatsapp groups, add them after taking their permission (you have to judge their level of interest before adding).

2) If they say 'no', you can talk to them and establish contact. Take their email and phone and have them added to campaigner database (very important as otherwise they will miss out on temple emails). Mark them for follow up, add them to your whatsapp group, invite for your home programs, invite for your conference calls, invite for temple programs and events etc. If you don't have any of these setup (like a whatsapp group or if you don't run a conf call etc), then you can either introduce them to one of the devotees who have these systems, or you can maintain a sheet with their details for follow up later. Whatever works! The idea is to have them under some devotee so we can know if they can be prospective devotee in the future.

3) If they become a little more regular (you have to inform us when they do) and show interest in Krishna consciousness, they are called 'Prospects' and will be added to the 'Prospects' tab of the congregation master list. You will be assigned as 'Preacher' to them. The 'Preacher' is the only responsible person as far as 'preaching' is concerned. Others can be friendly but not do active preaching.

4) We are maintaining a whatsapp group of all preachers "KB Mandir Visitor Care". So anyone who thinks a visitor is now a prospective devotee, please post your visitor details in that group. Congregation department will add them as part of 'Prospects' tab in the congregation master list. This will also eliminate conflicts. For example if a devotee 'x' wants to add the visitor "Sriram Ravi" to the 'prospects' list, he may already would have been added by another devotee 'y' as 'y' may be already following up with "Sriram Ravi". So 'x' will not have to spend energy in following up and bringing up "Sriram Ravi".

5) The congregation department will periodically run through and prune this 'Prospects' list and schedule organized one-on-one meetings between the preacher and the prospective devotee. Or between the congregation department head and the prospective devotee. These one-on-ones are effective way of getting the prospective devotee to become even more regular.

6) Once the prospective devotee becomes even more regular to the point of selecting a counselor (chanting at least 4 rounds, or expresses interest to be part of counselor system), they are then free and part of active congregation. They will be moved to the "Active congregation" tab in the master list. They will be given a choice of counselors and they can choose their choice.

Dealing with those visitors who became a little more regular :

1) Going back to the first question in the above section, if the visitor says "No we are regular visitors here, we already get the emails from temple." Then ask "Is there any devotee regularly in touch with you?". If they say yes, you can leave them. If they say no, then you can follow from step 2 in the above section.
